On Saturday 15 October Doucet head chef David Knapman will be taking over the The Sidwell Street Cafe in Exeter for a one-off dinner and fundraiser.
David and his team be cooking a menu inspired by local produce, local recipes – and running! Alongside his passion for food, David is a very keen runner and this October he will be lining up at the start (and hopefully crossing the finish line) of the London Marathon in the ‘Mighty Green’ vest of the Sidmouth Running Club. To mark the occasion, David will follow up his marathon run by hosting a one-off dinner at the St Sidwell Street Community Centre, with all the proceeds going directly to the centre.
For this one-off event, guests will be served a five-course menu created by David and featuring produce from the community centre’s own garden, as well as small producers in and around Exeter. Guests will have the option to pay in miles or kilometres (i.e. £26.39 or £42.19 respectively) and there will be an additional offering of drinks to accompany the meal.
Below is a draft menu for the night. Note, this is subject to change as dictated by what’s best on the day.

Bread and butter
St Sid’s salad with preserved beetroots and Harbourne Blue
Exeter Lumber-Pye
